In Greek mythology, Hermes (Ἑρμῆς) is the emissary and messenger of the gods. He is able to move freely between the worlds of the mortal and the divine, aided by his winged sandals and helmet. He carries a cadaceus – a special winged staff, which features two snakes intertwined.
