Hephaestus (Ἥφαιστος) is the Greek god of blacksmiths, carpenters, craftsmen and artisans. He is also the god of fire. In his role as blacksmith, he makes all the weapons of the gods in Olympus. In ancient times he was worshipped in the manufacturing and industrial centres of Greece, especially in Athens.
