The goddess of wisdom, strategy, and crafts, Athena (Ἀθηνᾶ) is the daughter of Zeus. She embodies intelligence and skill in both battle and peace, symbolised by an owl and an olive tree, and is revered as a patron of cities – especially Athens. Her Roman counterpart is Minerva.
